Current legislation now recommends that periodic inspections are carried out by a qualified electrician at least every five years or each time a tenancy changes. - Visual condition reports – visual condition reports can be used as an alternative to a full test or inspection. However, this must also be carried out by a fully qualified electrician and is only appropriate if the electrical installations have been inspected and fully tested within the previous two years and that any faulty electrics have been repaired or replaced.
- Fire alarms – fire alarms systems must also be regularly tested and the frequency of testing required will depend on the type of alarm. Fire alarm testing is vital and should be never overlooked.
